By Pat Grey & Ed Grey, first published 2005 by Fungimap Inc

Fungi Down Under is a field guide of 100 ‘target’ species, selected as a representation of a wide range of fungi types. It is unique in that its production – research, text, illustrations, design – is entirely the work of many volunteers (including 67 photographers), and it is the first fungi book to include detailed distribution data in map form.

It has a clear, easy-to-use, page-per-species format, the descriptions are comprehensive and consistent in style, and enable immediate comparison with the sometimes very similar ‘look-alikes’. And because some species can be very variable, most are illustrated by at least two photographs showing different forms, with the important features annotated. Information is also given on the typical habitat conditions of each species.
